We are always looking for Disability Support Workers to work with clients in the Bayside, Peninsula and surrounding suburbs.

What we are looking for

We are looking for people with an extraordinary passion for supporting people with a disability to achieve their goals. We will need people with a diverse range of skills to come on board to make Give a Care successful.

We do our very best to match our clients with our support workers based on personality traits, their likes and dislikes and location, so the more you tell us about yourself the better! Do you have any particular hobbies, interests or areas of expertise? We want to know about it!

To be successful, all applicants must have the following:

  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Current Working With Children Check WWCC
  • Cleared National Police Check for disability within the last twelve months
  • Current Level 2 First Aid & CPR (or be willing to get)
  • Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent (or actively enrolled)
  • Must satisfy all visa working requirements for working in Australia
  • Must have flexible times of availability – including weekends and out-of-hours
  • Can comfortably work with computers and other technology
  • Strong teamwork skills – can contribute to and assist others the team as well as
    avoid/resolve disputes
  • An innovative spirit in new ways to deliver support
  • Passionate about disability rights
  • Sound understanding of the risks and considerations when taking the people
    we support in to the community
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and take into account the individual
    preferences of the people we support and their families
